Project Details: Southport - Burleigh Arterial Road and Pacific Highway Andrews Interchange Burchill VDM Involvement: Burchill VDM was responsible for the analysis and design of a new interchange at the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Bermuda Street, Andrews. A number of interchange configurations were trialed with the optimum solution of a "tabletop" roundabout being selected to allow for future incorporation of access to nearby development and to accommodate the relatively high proportion of turning traffic at the intersection. Burchill VDM made use of its 3-D imaging technology to convey the concept to the Department of Main Roads and included a driving simulator to provide a driver's eye view of the performance of the roundabout alignment. |
