Project
Details: The AUD$700 million Hope Island Resort,
which is located on Hope Island upstream of Sanctuary Cove, is
currently under construction on 360 hectares of river front land
and comprises residential canals, a commercial centre and marina,
an 18 hole international golf course, sports centre, international
hotel and golf course residences.
The links style golf
course, which was designed in association with Thomson Wolveridge
golf course architects, has received critical acclaim and a high
level of patronage since its opening in March 1993.
Burchill
VDM Involvement:
Burchill VDM has been responsible for concept planning,
engineering investigations and design, and for construction
co-ordination of the golf course and all civil works for the total
project, including approximately 2.5 million cubic metres of
earthworks and 23 kilometres of ultimate waterways revetment.
During the peak period of infrastructure construction, Burchill
VDM were responsible for the management and administration of 18
concurrent contracts involving expenditures of AUD$5million /
month. |
